Buy a brick to repair our fragile brickwork and become part of local history.

To support the project please visit our donation page here at IndieGoGo – The Living Mill. Donate any amount or buy a brick for £25 and your name will be inscribed on our wall of honour.

We’ve made a great start with funding raised to lift and repair the cap, replace rotten windows and create learning resources for local schools and we need your help to raise £10,000 to complete the project.

The Living Mill project is being supported by Heritage Lottery Fund and East Leicestershire LEADER, but we need to match their funding to finish the job. The Windmill Tea Room has already contributed £8,000 and local families are giving countless hours of volunteer effort.

This is a hugely important year for Wymondham Windmill and the community it is part of. It is our opportunity to reinforce the very structure of the building. With the cap off for repairs it is possible to see what 200 years of weather has done to the brickwork at the top of the 20 metre tower.
In order to one day return the sails to the mill and see it producing flour again we need to repair this fragile brickwork.

There were once over 90 windmills in Leicestershire alone, now there are none in working order. With your help we can preserve this fine example.

For over 200 years the mill has stood over the village, faced storms, fire and huge changes to our society and economy. This is our chance to make sure it is there for future generations..
