Wymondham Windmill Education Package

Building work is now well underway at the mill, with new windows being fitted and courses of brickwork being replaced at the top of the tower to ensure it’s strong enough to take the weight of the cap when it’s put back on later this year.

Although the windmill itself is closed to visitors during weekdays, whilst the work is being done, there are lots of things going on behind the scenes to hep breathe new life into this important part of our local history.

A package of education materials has been developed which will enable teachers and their pupils to learn about the mill’s past. The resources have been developed with the help of the teacher, Suzanne Jeffreys, and pupils from St Peters C of E Primary School in Wymondham. The package, suitable for Key Stage 1, 2 and Early Years classes can be downloaded here and includes historical information, activity ideas and resources that can be used on site and in the classroom.
