2. Website Use

We aim to ensure that all information on this website is accurate and up to date. However, all content is provided for general information only and may be amended at any time without notice.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • opening hours
  • menus and pricing
  • availability
  • events and experiences
  • venue and service
  • descriptions
  • images and promotional content
  • Use of this website does not create a binding contract unless and until we confirm a booking, order or purchase.

You must not misuse this website or attempt to interfere with its operation, security or accessibility.

3. Bookings and Enquiries

Bookings and enquiries may be made by telephone, email, contact form, social media or any other booking method we make available.

A booking is not confirmed until we have accepted it. Where a deposit is required, the booking is only confirmed once that deposit has been received.

We reserve the right to refuse a booking at our discretion, including where:

  • the requested date or time is unavailable
  • the booking is unsuitable for the space requested
  • minimum numbers or other booking requirements are not met
  • we reasonably believe the booking may cause disruption, risk or damage

4. Pricing

All prices are stated in pounds sterling (£).

Prices may change at any time before a booking or order is confirmed. Once confirmed, the agreed price will apply unless:

  • you request changes
extra goods or services are added
  • a pricing error has occurred
circumstances outside our control require a material change
  • Unless otherwise stated, prices include VAT where applicable.

5. Tearoom and Food Service

We recommend booking in advance, particularly during busy periods. While we do our best to accommodate walk-in guests, tables cannot be guaranteed without a confirmed booking.

Menus, dishes, ingredients and presentation may vary depending on seasonality, supplier availability and operational requirements.

We will always try to accommodate dietary requirements where notified in advance. However:

  • we cannot guarantee that any item is completely free from allergens
  • all food is prepared in working kitchen environments where cross-contamination may occur
it is the customer’s responsibility to notify us clearly of any allergies or dietary requirements before the booking and again on arrival where appropriate
  • We reserve the right to make reasonable substitutions where necessary.

6. Afternoon Tea and Pre-Booked Food Services

Some food services, including afternoon tea, are offered on a pre-booked basis.

For these bookings:

  • final guest numbers and dietary requirements should be provided in advance
advance notice may be required for amendments
late changes may not always be possible once preparation has begun
  • Where guests fail to attend, any payments made are non-refundable unless we agree otherwise in writing.

7. Private Functions, Weddings and Large Bookings

We offer private hire and event services, including private functions, celebrations, weddings and large group bookings.

For these bookings:

  • provisional enquiries do not reserve a date unless we confirm this in writing
dates are only secured once we confirm the booking and receive any required deposit
final numbers, catering choices and event details must be provided by the deadline we give you
additional charges may apply for extra staffing, extended hire, specialist requirements, additional equipment, external suppliers, damage or exceptional cleaning
  • We reserve the right to refuse or end an event where guests behave in a way that is unsafe, illegal, abusive, excessively disruptive, or likely to cause damage to the venue, staff, other guests or the wider site.

8. Deposits and Payments

We may require a deposit for:

  • private functions
  • weddings
  • gift vouchers
  • certain large table bookings
  • All deposits are non-refundable.

Where a deposit is required, this will be confirmed at the time of booking or purchase. Bookings are not secured until the required deposit has been paid.

Full payment terms for larger bookings or events will be set out in the booking confirmation or invoice.

9. Cancellations and Changes

If you cancel a booking for which a deposit has been paid, that deposit will not be refunded.

Where we have already incurred costs, ordered stock, scheduled staff or carried out preparation for a booking or event, we reserve the right to retain additional sums paid or to charge for reasonable costs already incurred.

Any request to move a booking to another date is entirely at our discretion and subject to availability.

If we need to cancel a booking due to circumstances within our control, we will offer either:

a rescheduled date, or
a refund of monies paid for the affected booking, excluding any non-recoverable third-party costs where these have been clearly communicated in advance

10. Gift Vouchers

We sell gift vouchers and may offer these both on-site and through our website.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • vouchers must be paid for in full before issue
  • voucher payments are non-refundable
  • vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash
  • vouchers must be redeemed before any expiry date stated on the voucher
  • lost, stolen or damaged vouchers may not be replaced
  • vouchers must be presented at the time of redemption where required
  • We reserve the right to refuse any voucher which we reasonably believe has been altered, copied, damaged or obtained improperly.

11. Opening Hours and Availability

Opening hours shown on the website are intended as guidance only and may change from time to time.

We reserve the right to:

  • alter opening times
close all or part of the site
    restrict access to certain areas
  • suspend services temporarily
  • This may be necessary for maintenance, private events, staffing, weather, health and safety, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

12. Third-Party Businesses and Services

Wymondham Windmill may include or reference independent on-site businesses, partners or third-party services.

15. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss
  • we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity or loss of enjoyment
  • our total liability in connection with any booking, purchase or visit shall not exceed the amount paid by you to us for the relevant goods or services

We are not responsible for delays, disruption or cancellation caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, supplier issues, road closures, utility failures, staffing shortages, illness or force majeure events.
